Donald High School set for $3.5 million school upgrade

Posted On September 8, 2016

Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier Colin Brooks has today announced that Brandrick Architects have been appointed to design the $3.5 million upgrade.

Mr Brooks also announced that an extra $18,000 has been granted for further maintenance works during his visit to the school, where he met the schoolchildren currently attending the school and visited the planned upgrade site.

The Secretary to the Premier was glowing in his praise of the school telling the media that “Donald High School has an excellent reputation across Victoria and the Andrews Labor Government is pleased to support the school to upgrade its facilities.” he said.

He also echoed recent comments from the state government that they are committed to educational upgrades, saying, “We’re building the Education State and that means delivering the money needed for new buildings, new upgrades and entirely new schools for our kids.”

Currently, the Andrew Labor Government has spent approximately $375 million on plans and upgrades for 147 schools across Victoria.

Donald High School will be receiving new learning spaces, new pathways to connect internal and external classrooms as well as upgrading various buildings around the school.

Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford spoke of the upgrades, stating “We are delivering better school facilities in Donald because we know that quality infrastructure gives our students and teachers the learning environment they need to achieve their best.”

It is currently not know when the construction works will begin.
