Melbourne has been declared the most liveable city in the world for the seventh consecutive year.
And Sydney failed to even break the top 10.
The Victorian capital was scored 97.5 out of 100 by the Economist Intelligence Unit, beating out 140 of the world’s major cities. The score remains unchanged from last year.
The top 10 cities also remain unchanged from 2016, with Vienna and Vancouver rounding out the top three and Adelaide and Perth placing fifth and seventh respectively.
Sydney came in a dismal 11th for a second year, with The Economist blaming terror concerns for the drop from seventh in 2015.
Melbourne achieved a score of 95 for stability, 95.1 for culture and environment and perfect 100 scores for healthcare, education and infrastructure.
"We do not take this title for granted," Lord Mayor Robert Doyle said in a statement.
"(We will) work constantly to ensure we are protecting and enhancing our liveability for future generations."
